Managing Director, ASURE (ASU Research Enterprise)
Raja Suresh joined ASURE as the managing director in 2023 and leads strategic vision and operations while sustaining security compliance to extend applied research and development capabilities and support to Arizona State University. ASURE is an independent nonprofit cleared defense contractor that works closely with ASU’s Knowledge Enterprise, academic leaders, Department of Defense, intelligence community, federal and local government agencies and other partners.
Suresh previously served as corporate research and development director for General Dynamics Mission Systems, where he spent 27 years of his career. There he led technology development for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) data mining and global data dissemination, open architecture systems and multi-agent autonomy. His responsibilities included winning research contracts and transitioning the research into new and existing business lines.
Suresh has more than 45 years of experience from General Dynamics, Honeywell and ATK. He has secured more than 75 research contracts during his career, launched several new business areas, and recruited and launched teams of researchers. He holds two U.S. patents and has more than 30 publications.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Bangalore University, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota and PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota.
