Ann Toca
Ann Toca joined ASU Enterprise Partners in March 2022 as the first Chief Outreach Officer, leading the ASU Outreach Hub. The Outreach Hub is a new unit dedicated to connecting more people and organizations in meaningful and impactful ways in support of the ASU Public Enterprise by using data-driven insights, omni-channel outreach tactics and collaboratively designed solutions. As part of an enterprise-level marketing and communications ecosystem, her unit’s work drives mutually beneficial constituent actions and transactions while contributing to a coherent brand story that results in more effective, authentic branded communications.
Before joining ASU Enterprise Partners, Ann was the Chief Marketing Officer at ASU, responsible for developing and implementing brand strategies that advanced ASU’s brand strength, including launching and implementing the Core Brand Group to improve brand engagement and perceptions. She worked closely with the Hub’s knowledge and insights team to create and deploy the university’s first brand tracker, to identify market research priorities and to integrate insights into the Hub’s marketing and communications strategies. She had oversight of brand campaigns, brand standards, brand channels (web, social, email, print and on-campus signage), media buying, marketing solutions, marketing technologies, marketing partnerships and sponsorships, affinity platforms such as Sun Devil rewards, the Alumni Engagement and Impact Office and the Hub’s support operations including HR, finance and IT. Toca joined the Enterprise Marketing Hub in November 2013 as the office’s first executive appointment under the CMO.
Toca led an ASU Foundation for a New American University team responsible for developing communications and media relations strategies before moving into her role at the university. While at the foundation, she also played leadership roles in strategic planning, original crowd-funding efforts, selection and deployment of a CRM system and creation of the university’s advertising campaigns. She worked with design visionary Bruce Mau in 2008 on creating ASU’s brand look and feel and published the precursor to the university’s current brand guidelines.
She and her teams have earned regional and national recognition, including Emmy, Addy, MarCom and CASE Circle of Excellence awards.
Her professional background includes more than 20 years in consumer-packaged goods organizations and marketing and advertising agencies before joining ASU in 2006. She is a summa cum laude graduate of ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.
