Mackenzie “Mac” Woods serves as General Counsel to ASU Enterprise Partners and its affiliates, including the ASU Foundation, University Realty, Enterprise Collaboratory at ASU, ASU Outreach Hub, and others.
Woods has devoted his career to serving educational institutions and nonprofits. As an attorney in private practice, Woods practiced in the education group at Osborn Maledon, P.A. where he represented K-12 and higher education clients on M&A, regulatory, and other matters. Before that, Woods served as Deputy General Counsel at BASIS.ed, where he was lead counsel on transactional matters, including the network’s expansion into new jurisdictions. And, prior to joining ASU Enterprise Partners, Woods served in the office of general counsel at Arizona State University, where he was lead counsel on M&A transactions and other special projects.
Woods received his BA in political science from the University of New Mexico and his law degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. He began his career in education as a Teach For America corps member in Memphis, Tennessee.
However, Woods is most proud of being a husband to Jessie, and the father of two amazing kids.
