Meridith Rentz

Chief Operating Officer, ASU Enterprise Partners

Meridith L. Rentz joined ASU Enterprise Partners as the chief operating officer in 2023 and collaborates with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and operational strategy in support of Arizona State University’s efforts to advance its charter. She serves as a strategic thought partner who works closely with organization leaders on the design and integration of organizationwide, cross-team systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Rentz previously served as the vice president of global development for EARTH University and executive director of EARTH University Foundation, a nonprofit foundation that provides philanthropic support for EARTH University. EARTH is a private, nonprofit, international university based in Costa Rica, that supports students from over 40 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. During her tenure at EARTH, Rentz led the global integration of the organization’s development strategy and secured significant gifts from private foundations, multinational corporations and international governments.

Rentz has over 25 years of nonprofit and higher education experience including having served as the chief operating officer and chief of staff for Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. Previously, Rentz was CEO and president of MedShare, an innovative nonprofit with the dual mission of delivering surplus medical supplies and equipment to underserved populations around the world while lessening the impact of medical waste across the United States. Her professional experience includes working as chief administrative officer for Emory University’s Department of Internal Medicine and serving a range of clients as part of Deloitte Consulting’s Healthcare Strategy and Operations practice.

Rentz was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, and a Woodruff Fellow at Emory University where she received her MBA and Master of Public Health. She and her husband, Dean Baker, are the proud parents of three high school and college-age sons.
